Google Classroom is a web-based service that allows teachers to post files and assignments for their classes. (Club moderators and head coaches may also use Google Classroom to share information with club/team members.) Students have access to information for the classes, clubs, and teams in which the student is enrolled. All students must have the Google Classroom app installed on their iPad. Students use this app to turn in many assignments. Google Classroom is also available via any computer with internet access at classroom.google.com.
Anyone having difficulty accessing Google Classroom should contact Ms. Rebecca Price, Technology Coordinator, in Room 209.
Naviance is a comprehensive college and career readiness solution for high schools that helps connect academic achievement to post-secondary goals. It is used by students at Borgia to request recommendations from faculty for college and scholarship applications. For account login information and assistance, students should contact their guidance counselor. Students and parents can access their accounts at Borgia Naviance Connection
Students can access assignment information and grades through Skyward Student Access. Skyward is a web-based service, to which the school subscribes, that can be accessed via an app on an iPad or from any computer with internet access by clicking on the Skyward logo at the lower right corner of every page on Borgia's web site.
Each student receives a Student Access account when initially enrolled. Upon receiving their unique access information, students must take the necessary steps to activate their accounts to view his/her information, including class schedules, grades, activities, school calendar with club meeting dates, and much more.
Teachers will post grades on Skyward once a week. Progress Reports are posted on Skyward at the end of each term and Report Cards are posted at the end of each semester.
Message Center within Skyward is also used by school administrators, teachers, club moderators and coaches to communicate with students and parents. The Food Service link within Skyward provides the current balance that remains in the student's lunch account.
Anyone with problems accessing information within Skyward's Student Access should contact Mrs. Chris Feldmann in the Main Office or Ms. Rebecca Price, Technology Coordinator, in Room 209.
Borgia subscribes to Turnitin.com, a service that aids teachers in preventing plagiarism. Students submit papers, reports, and essays to Turnitin.com, which reviews the work and prepares an Originality Report. Teachers use this information as they grade each student's work.
