704 Recreational Activities I

1 semester, ½ credit

Open to juniors and seniors

Recreational Activities offers students an opportunity to participate in a variety of co-recreational group activities such as softball, volleyball, bowling, tennis, and others, as recreational facilities are available. If the activities require equipment or fees, the student will be expected to pay the fees or have the necessary equipment. Activities include golf, lacrosse, outdoor skills, pickleball, badminton, ping pong, handball, Frisbee, and dance. The class will be graded pass/fail and can only be taken once.


By the completion of this course, students will be able to…

  1. Participate and cooperate in all activities.
  2. Identify rules and strategies involved in recreational activities.
  3. Interact with peers and solve problems while recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of one another.
  4. Explain the rules of a game to one another.


By the completion of this course, students will know...

  1. Physical activities that have recreational as well as life-long health benefits
  2. Rules, requirements, and benefits of certain physical activities
  3. The value of fair play and cooperation
