It is imperative that Borgia has correct family and emergency contact information for all students. The information displayed in Family Access under the Student Information tab reflects the most current information that we have on file for your student. Parents or guardians should verify that the information displayed there is current. Perhaps you have moved, discontinued your landline service, or changed to a new email system. Whenever any revisions are needed, parents or guardians must notify Mrs. Feldmann at 636-239-7871, ext. 111, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A copy of the divorce decree must be available in the main office. Non-custodial parents will be sent notifications regarding newsletters, report cards, etc. unless a court order prohibits. Custodial parent has the responsibility of providing a copy of divorce decree and notifying the office if non-custodial parent is not to receive mailings from school or is not to have contact with student. Each parent (both custodial and non-custodial) has the obligation of providing correct contact information.

Parents of Borgia students are encouraged to endorse the school’s Healthy Lifestyle Program by signing a contract to work with the school to encourage students to be physically, socially, and emotionally healthy. As a Healthy Lifestyle Parent, you will encourage your child to take charge of his/her life by encouraging him/her to develop good eating habits, be chaste, and avoid the use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. When signing this contract, parents pledge to do their best to ensure that their home will be a place that other parents will know that the standards of the Healthy Lifestyle program are met. Parents commit to maintain a healthy and wholesome home that would aid in helping their child and his/her friends in avoiding situations that may put their lifestyles in jeopardy and to be cognizant of the fact that the healthy choices they make today will positively impact them and others tomorrow.
The recommendation for all students is an iPad (generation 4 or later) or an iPad mini with a minimum of 32 GB of storage. Students with iPads need to be vigilant in the management of files such as books, music, videos, games, etc. If necessary, additional storage can be acquired through Apple’s iCloud service.
These conferences are held in October after the end of the first quarter. They provide an opportunity for parents to meet teachers and to briefly discuss their student’s current progress in class.

In addition to grades and assignment information, Family Access provides access to a School Directory. Each family has the opportunity to opt into this directory or decline to be listed.
If you would like your family information to be listed in the School Directory, you must opt in within Family Access. To do so, click on My Account in the upper right corner of the main screen. Scroll to the bottom of this page to the School Directory, then check the box to include your family and choose the options you wish to share in the directory, including address, primary phone number, guardian email addresses, and students’ grade levels.
Once these preferences are set, families do not need to do anything unless they wish to change any of the settings for their family. If you are new to Borgia and do not want to be listed in the directory, you do not have to do anything. Inclusion is not automatic.
Please consider adding your family to the School Directory. This directory can be very helpful for parents wishing to contact other parents.
Eligibility for learning accommodations – Parents who have students who may require learning accommodation beyond that of other students at St. Francis Borgia may request an evaluation to determine eligibility for an ISP (Individualized Student Plan) or a 504. A parent who believes his/her son or daughter may have learning accommodation needs should contact Dianna Meyer, our Learning Consultant. She will work with the Washington School District to arrange an eligibility evaluation and meeting. Students who are found eligible will proceed to write accommodations. Some accommodations may be fulfilled at Borgia, others may require the student to visit Washington High School after school hours to receive additional services.
If a parent believes his/her son or daughter is in need of accommodations but the student is not affected by a learning disability, the parents may move directly to determining eligibility for a 504 with the school. If Borgia believes the needs are not provided for in its “universal design” of accommodations, a 504 may be written and put into place. To determine eligibility for a 504, please contact Interim Principal, Rob Struckhoff.
