906 Health Care Internship

One semester, ½ credit

Open to seniors

This class provides an opportunity for a student considering a career in health care to observe professionals in real patient care situations. Students make observations and provide written reflections about education required for various professionals, work environments, and interactions with coworkers and patients.  The internship will help students to clarify career goals. The Health Care Internship involves placement at Mercy Hospital.

Prerequisite:  A C- or better in 533 Human Anatomy and Physiology if taken previously or if taking concurrently or advanced science class with permission from the Counseling Department  and the Instructor.  Health Care Internship cannot be taken if a student is also enrolled in Health Occupations through FRCC.
