The St. Louis University 1818 Program offers qualified high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credit for select advanced-level high school courses. Students must have a 3.33 GPA, consistent attendance, and teacher recommendation to take a course for 1818 credit. St. Louis University sets the tuition for the credits they award. Students are responsible for meeting registration and payment deadlines.
St. Louis University allows a student to take no more than 11 credit hours of 1818 courses in a given semester. Although there is no official list of colleges that accept 1818 credit, Borgia students attending most Missouri colleges report that the college credit they earned in high school through the 1818 program was accepted. Students report that some colleges limit the number of credits they accept or will accept some course credits and not others. Many selective universities will not accept 1818 credit, including Washington University. It is the responsibility of the student to find out what courses are accepted at prospective colleges.
