Young People's Political Organization

Purpose:	The purpose of the Young People's Political Organization (YPPO) is: To educate members politically To make members aware of the responsibility and duty of voting To help members understand political candidates and their issues To help members understand the problems of local communities
Membership:	The club is open to all students; members must attend at least 90% of the meetings to be active in the organization.
Meetings:	Refer to agenda or listing posted in homeroom.
Activities:	In election years, mock elections are held. A simulated city council meeting, usually in the evening in April, depending upon participation of members. Other topics which are brought up by members of the organization.
Officers:	Any member of the organization can nominate persons for officers. All members of the organization vote for the officers. Elections take place during the May meeting. Offices are president, vice-president and secretary. President should be a senior, Vice-president and Secretary could be a Junior or a Senior.
Participation Points:	Students can receive 1-10 points depending upon service to the organization, attendance at meetings and participation in the city council meeting and any other activities performed by the club.
