Mass & More on Sunday, March 2 has been cancelled due to weather conditions.
Welcome to the Class of 2018
Members of the Class of 2018 will be receiving this month's newsletter. In subsequent months, their parents will receive email notification when the newsletter is available online as do our other parents. We welcome them to the Borgia family and look forward to their presence on campus.
Freshmen Registration: On Tuesday, March 4, freshman registration will be held in the cafeteria at 6:30pm. Parents of incoming freshmen should have received an information packet in the mail during the month of February. If you have not received a packet, please call Chris Feldmann at 636-239-7871, ext. 111.
Luke 18: Preparations are beginning. Thank you to all who have served in the past as sleep houses. If you know any incoming freshman parents, please encourage them to host a sleep house. We can't do this retreat without assistance from the freshman class parents. Your help in spreading the word is greatly appreciated. The freshman retreat will be August 15 - 16 at SFBRHS.
Borgia & Beyond
Does your son or daughter regularly connect class material to an application in life? Does he or she seek out conversation about course content outside of class? Whether our students do these things or not is part of the focus of the "Increasingly Inquisitive" group that meets at each Borgia and Beyond meeting. This month, they will be looking at data regarding our students and these questions.
Now that our school has integrated iPads into our classrooms, what technology goals should we be pursuing next? Our "21st Century Leaders" group will focus on this as they develop our 2014-2017 Technology Plan. We know that part of the plan will be focused on building one of the best STEM Labs in the state. Our initial work to plan this STEM Lab will be shared.
What have you heard about Goal-Based Grading? Last month, the "Goal-Setting" group developed some Frequently Asked Questions about goal-based grading. We will revisit these and watch a video highlighting its purpose.
We also will continue work to help our students become more "guided by faith" and their ability to "connect to college plans."
The next meeting is Thursday, March 6 at 7pm in the cafeteria. Again parents who attend will earn a dress down pass for their students for the following day. Hope to see you there!
