Free-eBooks has a large collection of books, but you will need to register to read the books.
University of Virginia Library's Etext Centerhas 2,100 publicly-available ebooks including classic British and American fiction, major authors, children's literature, American history, Shakespeare, African-American documents, the Bible, and much more.
Project Gutenberg has over 25,000 free books available.
eBook Directory has a large directory of free downloadable ebooks.
Getfreebooks.com allows you to download ebooks free.
